Looking back on 2024, we couldn’t be more proud of how the year has unfolded.

We’ve reached some incredible milestones that set us up for a strong start in 2025. Not only have we published nine books, but we’ve also sold 1,000 copies—a remarkable achievement for any business in its first year of trading.

As we kick off 2025 with a bang, I’m both excited and a little nervous about what lies ahead this year. Behind the scenes, I’ve been working hard on building my self-confidence and managing anxiety. One step I’ve taken is voice coaching lessons to prepare myself for the challenges ahead and the many book readings I will be doing.

You may have noticed that the website got a bit of a makeover over the festive period. Since we’re a small family business just starting out, we don’t have the budget for a flashy, professionally designed website. Fortunately, in my day job, I’ve learned how to build and maintain websites, so for now, it’s a one-person operation. That said, I’m happy with how its turned out, and I hope you like it too. Websites are always a work in progress, no matter the size of the business.

Looking ahead to the first quarter of 2025, we have some very exciting news to share!
Standen House and Garden, a National Trust property, has invited Tawny Owl Wood to take up residency. We’re thrilled (and a bit nervous!) about this incredible opportunity.

From Wednesday, 15th January, and every Wednesday through 12th March, Finding the Old Oak Tree will have its very own Storytime sessions at two time slots each day. For more details, click here.

And that’s not all! During the February half-term, starting Saturday, 15th February, Tawny Owl Wood will be hosting workshop sessions filled with fun activities and nature-inspired crafts. To book these sessions, visit here.

We’ve also decided to take a break from stall-holding events for the first three months. Both Phil and I work full-time, and attending weekend events can be exhausting, we have to put our mental and physical health first. This break will give us a well-deserved rest. We really love being out and about talking to you all about the concept of Tawny Owl Wood and listening to all you wonderful stories and even requests for stories or topics to be brought into Tawny Owl Wood.

In addition to our website, you can now find our books on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Waterstones—all platforms with safe and secure payment options.

Our first major event of the year, outside of Standen House and Gardens, will be the Bump and Beyond Baby and Toddler Show in Norwich, which we’re really looking forward to attending. For those of you who don’t know, Norfolk is where Tawny Owl Wood was created and where we consider to be home.

And that’s not all for early 2025! We’re thrilled to announce two new book releases:

  • Finding the Lost Lamb (Picture Book) more information can be found here
  • An Unexpected Guest (Chapter Book) more information can be found here

A further two books will be released later in the year too.

If that wasn’t enough, we will be bringing a whole host of new merchandise out to accompany the series, keep your eyes peeled for that!

And finally! It’s been a remarkable year for us, made even more possible by each and every one of you.

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the love, support and words of encouragement you have all given us.

Here’s to 2025!!
